BIO OF Fahima Salam
Fahima Salam is a distinguished architect, academic, and researcher with a passion for heritage conservation, sustainable urban planning, and cultural landscape analysis. She holds dual Bangladeshi and Portuguese nationality. With a B.Arch. from Khulna University, an MSc in Disaster Management from Dhaka University, and an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Techniques, Heritage, Territories of Industry (TPTI) from University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), University of Padua (Italy), and University of Évora (Portugal), Fahima brings a multinational perspective to her work. As a collaborator with Mridha’s Research Center (MRC), Dhaka, she contributes to interdisciplinary research on Bangladesh’s architectural heritage and urban challenges. Her extensive academic and professional experience includes teaching at Bangladesh University and the State University of Bangladesh, as well as practical architectural projects with Grand Arch. Fahima’s mission is to preserve cultural heritage while promoting resilient, sustainable urban solutions, inspiring students and communities through her global experiences and love for exploring heritage cities.
