BIO OF Laila Arzumand Banu

Laila Arzumand Banu is a passionate architect and educator from Bangladesh, holding a B.Arch from Khulna University (KU) and currently pursuing an MURP at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), Pabna, she specializes in heritage conservation, colonial architecture, and sustainable urban planning, contributing to scholarly publications and collaborative research on Bangladesh’s built environment. An active collaborator with institutions like Mridha’s Research Center (MRC), Dhaka, where she serves as Emeritus & Advisor, Laila has been recognized for her interdisciplinary work blending historical analysis with modern design principles. Her mission is to preserve Bangladesh’s architectural legacy while promoting resilient, community-centered solutions that address environmental and cultural challenges, inspiring the next generation of architects through teaching and global dialogue.
